FastCasual.com | Slim Chickens arrives in Colorado, launches food truck

It’s been a busy month for Slim Chickens as the brand opened its first Colorado location, in Aurora, and also launched its first food truck.

The Colorado store is owned by multi-unit franchisee Love Restaurant Group, according to a press release, and is the first of a 30-unit franchise deal. Love’s agreement covers all of Utah and Colorado and it plans to open 30 stores over the next decade. Development is already underway in Centennial, Colorado Springs and Parker, Colorado as well as Lehi, Utah. These locations are slated to open in 2020. Love Restaurant Group also operates 15 Burger King restaurants.

“The first time we tried the food, we knew Slim Chickens was the right choice as we sought to diversify our portfolio into the better chicken segment,” said Byron Wheeler, president and managing owner of Love Restaurant Group, in the release. “In addition to the product, Slim Chickens sets itself apart from other fast-casual chicken franchises with its strong brand following, simple operations, passionate executive team and truly incredible franchisee support.”
